Evaluating Successes

Did It Work?   In the last learning skills assignment, I asked you to evaluate one of your successes in this class and to apply that evaluation to your current writing assignment. Now, here's the important question: did it succeed? Have you solved the problem? Did you get the same grade? A higher grade?
If you succeeded, answer the following questions:
  • Of all the things you listed when you evaluated your first success, which ones did you actually apply to the written assignment?
  • Of all the things that you applied to the written assignment, which ones do you think were responsible for your current success? The person you worked with? The problems you concentrated on? In other words, of all the things you did, what should you make sure you do every time you submit a written essay for this class?
If you didn't succeed, answer the following questions:
  • Did you leave something out when you evaluated your earlier success? What was it?
  • Did you do everything that you said you'd do? Did you leave something out when you applied your evaluation to the written assignment?
